Aflie’s Squad is coming to Sheffield

Alfie’s Squad provides specialist suicide bereavement support for children, young people and their families. Through peer support groups and tailored activities, the charity helps children feel understood, less isolated and better supported following the loss of a loved one to suicide.

Alfie’s Squad is holding its official Sheffield launch event and is inviting professionals working across public health, youth services, education, policing, mental health and other key sectors to attend.

Date: 7 July, 12:00pm–2:30pm
Venue: The Tony Currie Suite, Bramall Lane

The session will include:

  • An introduction to Alfie’s Squad and its specialist bereavement services
  • Insights into the impact of suicide bereavement on children, young people and families
  • Guidance on referral pathways and accessing support
  • Opportunities to ask questions, network and explore partnership working
  • Lunch and informal networking with fellow professionals

Established in Liverpool and Bolton, Alfie’s Squad has been supporting families across Merseyside, Cheshire and Greater Manchester since 2023. Thanks to support from Sheffield United Community Foundation, the service will become available to families across South Yorkshire from September 2026.

This event is an opportunity to find out more about the new service, understand how it can support local families, and connect with organisations that may play a role in identifying and referring those who need support.
