Samaritans provide emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including feeling suicidal. You can contact their helpline, email them, or use their webchat feature. They are available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. They are open to all age groups and backgrounds, nationwide.
Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SOBS) is an self-help organisation who work to meet the needs of those bereaved by the suicide of a close relative or friend. Many of their volunteers have themselves been bereaved by suicide.
The Sheffield support group meets 1st Wednesday of the month. During the pandemic they’re meeting online – to join, email [email protected] or ring Nick on 07858 290078.
Their national helpline is 0300 111 5065. It is open 9am-9pm Monday to Sunday.
CALM, the Campaign Against Living Miserably, exists to prevent male suicide through their helpline, website, and campaigns.
